Burton Cotton Gin & Museum - History comes alive....... Sample early 20th Century life in a small rural Texas town of Burton. Cotton was king and farm life was the order of the day. Enjoy historic buildings and tour this surviving cotton gin that still operates in the original building with its original equipment. Washington on the Brazos State Park - Visit the Birthplace of Texas. Star of Republic Museum - A Museum rich in history of the Lone Star State during the Texas Republic period between 1836-1846. Independence Hall and Washington Town site - A half mile all weather walking trail will lead you to the site that marks the place where the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed. TheatreUnity Theatre - A non-profit, professional theatre located in historic downtown Brenham. This 125-seat theatre, set in a restored warehouse, offers an intimate theatre experience within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and fine bed & breakfast establishments.
